Hair Reborn is a wonderful charity offering support, advice and hair care services to people suffering from hair loss through cancer chemotherapy treatment. At Charlie Brown we are proud to be a partner salon with Hair Reborn, helping guests who come to us through the programme regain their confidence.

The Hair Reborn programme offers three free salon visits, to help manage hair loss with restyling and advice to help you feel like you again. If you choose to come to Charlie Brown hair, we treat every guest as an individual with understanding, support and practical advice to suit your lifestyle and needs at that time. If you would like any adjustments made when you come for your visit – perhaps an appointment at a quieter time or extra privacy – just let us know and we will always be happy to accommodate.

This service includes a personally designed cut, wash, optional head massage and finish. We’ll also always make sure that you leave the salon feeling confident about how to style and look after your new cut, so don’t be shy to ask your stylist any questions if you’re unsure.

If you’re opting for a hair colouring service then this must be purchased with a cut and finish, or a colour blow dry.

Add it to your cut and finish to leave the salon with an extra spring in your step and bounce in your hair or book to come in with clean dry hair & let us GHD Curl, tong or straighten your hair for you.

Treatment Time

Cut and finish treatments are one of our most popular and chances are you’ve had lots of them without even realising it. A cut and finish at Charlie Brown includes a consultation with your stylist so we can figure out exactly what it is that will work for you. You’ll then have your hair washed and cleansed with products that have been selected to suit your hair, followed by your cut and desired styling (the ‘finish’!) afterwards.

Yes, a ladies cut and finish appointment will include a consultation with a luxury wash and conditioning treatment (tailored to your hair needs), followed by your desired cut and styling.

Finishes at Charlie Brown Hair include: brush blow drying, diffusing curly hair or natural lamp drying. If time allows the stylist may straighten or curl using irons or tongs, you may book ‘GHD Curls’ on top if it is a special occasion & you’d like extra time spent. If your desired finish is a blow dry then your cut and finish can include this service.

We recommend that a haircut’s life lasts about 6 weeks if you want to retain the shape, style and healthy look you left the salon with as hair grows unevenly. If 6 weeks seems a little too often for you, then we recommend popping into the salon for a trim or restyle every couple of months to avoid split ends and keep your hair looking thick and healthy. How often you cut your hair also depends on the length of your hairstyle. Short haircuts will need more attention than longer styles, because their growth shows up more obviously while long hair growth is less noticeable. This can be due to the hair fraying, so a ‘little and often’ approach keeps long hair thick and healthy looking, especially if you want to grow it.

Knowing which haircuts suit you can be a tricky business but it is also very subjective. Our stylists are here to help tailor a specific style that will suit your face shape, hair type, lifestyle and styling abilities. We’re always happy to discuss ideas with you and help you understand which haircuts might suit you best.

With that in mind however, below are a few general rules that you might want to keep in mind.

The first thing you’ll want to consider is your face shape and your hair type. To figure out what shape your face is, pull your hair off your face and take a look at the proportions created by the positioning of your hairline and how your jaw, cheekbones and forehead all align. Is your face square, with your jawline and forehead aligning, or do you have more of an oval shaped face? You might have a round face with full cheeks, a heart shaped face with a wider hairline, or a diamond if your jaw and forehead are the same width, with your cheeks the widest part of your face and a narrow chin.

The next step is to figure out how your hairstyle is going to balance out these features on your face. This is where your stylist can really help and advise you. As an example, long faces can be shortened with fringes, beautiful eyes & strong jaw features can be accentuated by bringing the eye to them with design lines in the hair cut.
